Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using ShiftRanks ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and ShiftRanks.

2. Description of Service

ShiftRanks is an AI-powered local SEO automation platform that provides tools including on-page SEO auditing, content generation, keyword rank tracking, backlink analysis, brand mention monitoring, citation building, Google Business Profile management, and social media publishing.

3. Account Registration

You must register for an account to use the Service. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at info@shiftranks.com if you suspect unauthorised access.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or systematically extract data from the Service
• Use the Service to generate spam, misinformation, or content that violates third-party platform policies
• Share your account credentials with others
• Circumvent any usage limits or subscription tier restrictions

5. Subscription and Billing

Access to certain features requires a paid subscription. ShiftRanks offers the following plans:

• Starter — £49/month or £529/year (10% annual discount). Includes a 30-day free trial. A valid payment method is required to start the trial; your card will be charged automatically after the trial period unless cancelled. Trial users may publish up to 3 social media posts.
• Growth — £99/month or £1,069/year (10% annual discount). No free trial. Payment required to activate.
• Pro — £199/month or £2,149/year (10% annual discount). No free trial. Payment required to activate.
• Enterprise — Custom pricing. Contact us at hello@shiftranks.com.

Monthly subscriptions are billed in advance each month. Annual subscriptions are billed in full at the start of the annual term. All prices are exclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.

5a. Cancellation Policy

ShiftRanks does not offer self-service cancellation. All cancellation requests must be submitted through the in-app cancellation form or by emailing elia@shiftranks.com. A member of our team will contact you within 1 business day to discuss your request and ensure you have received the full value of the service before any cancellation is processed.

This policy exists because our team is committed to providing the best possible customer experience and ensuring cancellations are genuinely in the customer's interest. Your subscription will remain active during this review period.

We strongly recommend maintaining your subscription for a minimum of 12 months. SEO is a long-term strategy — Google typically requires 3 to 6 months to reflect ranking improvements, and results compound significantly over a 12-month period. Cancelling early forfeits the compounding benefit of the work already completed.

5b. Refund Policy

ShiftRanks operates a no-refund policy as a general rule. Given the nature of AI-generated content and SEO services, results are delivered continuously and cannot be returned once rendered.

Exceptions: Refunds may be considered only where a verified technical failure on our part has prevented you from accessing or using the Service. To request a refund under this exception, you must:

• Contact us at elia@shiftranks.com within 7 days of the issue occurring
• Provide a clear description of the technical issue and the dates affected
• Allow our team a reasonable period (up to 10 business days) to investigate

Refunds will not be granted for: dissatisfaction with SEO results (which require time to materialise), change of mind, failure to use the service, or third-party platform outages outside our control. All refund decisions are at the sole discretion of ShiftRanks and will be communicated in writing.

6. Third-Party Integrations

The Service integrates with third-party platforms (Google, Meta, LinkedIn, Stripe, OpenAI, DataForSEO, Webflow). Your use of those integrations is also subject to the respective third-party terms of service. We are not responsible for changes, outages, or policy violations imposed by those platforms.

7. Intellectual Property

All AI-generated content produced through the Service on your behalf is owned by you. The ShiftRanks platform, codebase, UI, and brand are owned by ShiftRanks Ltd. You may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the platform without written permission.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated content will achieve specific SEO outcomes. SEO results depend on many factors outside our control.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ShiftRanks shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability in any circumstance shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at our discretion if you breach these Terms. You may delete your account at any time from within the platform. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
